Full membership is open to Colleges and Universities in the UK that offer significant volumes of high quality further and/or higher education in at least 6 land based occupational areas. These providers must also have control over appropriate physical resources to provide their students with on-site practical experience, and enjoy strong relationships with the industries they serve. Full members are required to engage fully with the Landex quality improvement (peer review) process; have full access to all Landex services and CPD events and are shareholders in the company and are eligible to stand as members of the Board.
Affiliate membership is open to providers in England that offer high quality further and/or higher education in at least 2 land based occupational areas. These providers must also have appropriate physical resources to provide their students with an appropriate range of practical experience and enjoy strong relationships with the industries they serve. Affiliate members Are required to engage fully with the Landex quality improvement (peer review) process; have access to Landex services and CPD events but ARE NOT shareholders in the company and may not stand as members of the Board, however they may join and take a full part in the work of the Landex committees.
For a wide range of learners and in England collectively provide over 80% of further education and over 82% of higher education in land based subjects.
As well as managing apprenticeship programmes, bespoke training and continuous professional development for employers and their work forces.
And Foundation Degrees. A significant number also deliver Honours and Post-graduate Degrees.
Including farms, nurseries, veterinary practices, equestrian and sports complexes, which provide a unique learning experience for students.
Applied research and, in particular, field trial activity as an integral part of their portfolios.
And delivery contracts including many with world class companies and leading commercial and voluntary sector organizations.
Not just locally, but regionally and nationally or internationally.
Engage them in a wide range of college activity such as membership of Governing Bodies and course development, monitoring & quality committees.
On campus for both 16-18 and adult learners, together with extensive social and support services.
Respond to the implications that climate change has upon the land use and management agenda through curriculum design, operational activity and industry partnerships.
For primary pupils and those in years 10 and 11 of secondary education: an extensive range of short courses and an increasing number of distance learning programmes.
Stage many events and open days for the general public and those aspiring to careers in the land based industries.
Landex – ‘Land Based Colleges & Universities Aspiring to Excellence’ is a subscriber organisation with 36 member Colleges and Universities in England and 3 Members in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
To qualify for membership the provider must deliver significant volumes of education and training in land based occupational areas.
